Gas

Your gas tank should be at least 1/4 but no more than 1/2 full. If your vehicle is being transported internationally, via a port, it will require less than 1/4 tank or it will be refused. Carriers will sometimes have to reposition their vehicle on the trailer to load and unload other vehicles resulting in additional mileage.

Antennas

Antennas should be lowered or removed. Temporary.

Keys

The U.S. Department of Transportation requires that the carrier be provided with one set of all keys for the vehicle, including the ignition, trunk, and glove box keys & remote.

Alarms

Alarms should be turned off or make sure the carrier has an alarm remote. If there are special instructions required to start a vehicle or to disarm an alarm, please advise the carrier. Advanced Auto Transport, LLC & carrier is not responsible for drained batteries as a result of an alarm that has not been turned off.

Accessories

Remove any luggage, bike, ski racks, bug shields, or any other items not permanently attached to the vehicle.

Spoilers

Spoilers, fairing, air dams, and/or other low-hanging items should be removed, or sufficient clearance must be assured to facilitate loading on the rail and truck ramps. Any damage caused by a low-hanging item hanging up, catching on, or scraping on the rail and trailer ramps shall be denied by Advanced Auto Transport, LLC & carrier.

Climate

Make sure your vehicle is prepared for any climate. Add coolants, transmission fluid, antifreeze, and other fluids. Advanced Auto Transport, LLC nor the carrier shall be responsible for damage caused as a result of Acts of God or Nature which result in different climatic conditions. The best protection is to have the vehicle prepared for both the trip and climatic conditions at the destination. For positioning purposes, please notify us of any known fluid leaks to the office at the time of booking. (also notify the driver at the time of pickup so the vehicle can be loaded in a certain spot on the trailer).

Caps - Canopies - Tonneau Covers

Caps, canopies, or other such items on pickup trucks must be properly bolted to the bed of the truck to ensure safe delivery. Vinyl or canvas tonneau covers must be either rolled (retracted) and locked or removed. (must notify at time of booking so there is no surprises for the carrier at pickup).

Personal Items

(We are auto transport our authority is to transport vehicles, not household goods) Advanced Auto Transport, LLC & the carrier shall NOT be responsible for any items left inside the vehicle or damage done to the interior or frame of the vehicle. from items being stored in the vehicle during transport, (Items in a vehicle can cause damage to the inside of the vehicle & can also cause damage to the frame) (Any goods in a vehicle can have additional charges) Putting more than 100 pounds in the vehicle may have additional charges, Some drivers may charge from $100.00 - $150.00 for household goods in vehicle.

The DOT prohibits the carrying of personal items on a truck licensed only for transporting vehicles. Stored personal items can also increase the overall weight of your vehicle which could cause damage during transport. Non-compliance could result in the removal of items upon inspection by the DOT at state lines.
P.S. Must notify at time of booking if household goods will be in the vehicle!!

Locations

Make sure that both your pick-up and drop-off locations are tractor-trailer accessible. A 75 - 80 foot truck must be able to maneuver. (drivers will usually meet in big parking lots that are accessible for trucks of this size, Walmart's have been the best parking lot for lots of drivers)Carriers will sometimes have to reposition their vehicle on the trailer to load and unload other vehicles resulting in additional mileage.

Pickup/Delivery Times

Be sure that you have chosen locations that allow someone to be present between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. during daylight hours 7 days a week.

Contact Times

Be sure the contact person is available by phone between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:45 p.m., and be sure that the phone numbers you provided are direct lines to those persons. Cell phones are usually the best. Pagers or voicemail numbers cannot be used.

Vehicles Becoming Inoperable

During transportation, vehicles may cease to operate properly through no fault of the carrier nor Advanced Auto Transport, LLC. The contracted Carrier will be responsible for damages caused directly by the driver. Vehicles becoming inoperable during transport will have extra charges.
